Mary and Shanak were married at Virgin Hotels NYC in a celebration that brought two cultures beautifully together. She is Australian. He is Bengali. The result was one of the most vibrant and emotionally rich weddings our team has designed.
Red is the color of Bengali weddings. It is also bold, romantic, and completely at home in New York City. Therefore, our team built the entire floral palette around deep, saturated reds. The result is electric.
Mary carried a clean, architectural bouquet of white calla lilies. The contrast against her red saree was striking. Furthermore, the calla lilies brought a modern, editorial quality to the bridal look.
The ceremony backdrop was designed to stop guests in their tracks. A gold architectural frame served as the foundation. From it, cascading red amaranthus fell in dramatic, waterfall-like strands. Red roses clustered at the base completed the look.
The installation honored the significance of red in Bengali wedding tradition. At the same time, it felt entirely modern and unmistakably New York. This is precisely the balance our team works to strike with every design.
The reception space sits high above the city, with sweeping Manhattan views. Our team designed arrangements that could hold their own against that backdrop. Rich red roses and anthuriums in silver compote vases anchored each round table.
Some tables featured individual red stems in bud vases alongside tall cylinder candleholders. As a result, the tablescape felt layered and dynamic rather than repetitive. Every angle offered something to appreciate.
The wedding cake was an elongated, sculptural piece. Our team styled it with red, pink, and white anthuriums, ranunculus, red currants, blackberries, and watermelon. Consequently, it looked more like a garden installation than a traditional wedding cake. It was entirely its own kind of beautiful.

Mary wore two looks on her wedding day. First, a stunning red saree with gold embroidery for the Bengali ceremony. Then, she changed into a flowing white gown for the Western reception. Our florals worked beautifully across both aesthetics.

Virgin Hotels NYC is one of Manhattan’s most striking wedding venues. The high floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and iconic red interiors make it a remarkable canvas. Our team designs florals that respond directly to the energy of the space.
If you are planning a Manhattan or New York City wedding, our team would love to connect. We offer full wedding floral services, with day-of coordination available as an add-on for couples who want one trusted team handling everything.
